New cards offer handy way to find phone numbers for city departments

In an emergency, the number 911 springs instantly to mind. But for mundane questions about street light repairs, potholes or special events permits, figuring out what city department to call and who to speak with may prove a little more frustrating.

“When I’m out visiting and talking with people, they often say that they can’t find numbers for City Hall easily,” said Mayor Elaine Horn. “Some people were also using different numbers to get information, for example calling the police department to get the number for the water department. It’s a little redundant and requires people to take time out of their day to look up a number and relay the information.”
