Walkers raise more than $23,000 for Alzheimer's

Posted: Tuesday, September 13, 2011 12:00 am | Updated: 11:14 am, Wed Sep 5, 2012.

More than 350 local residents helped raise more than $23,000 Saturday through the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the Highway Gardens on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

In a news release, Sedalia walk chairwoman Sheila Ream said: “We surpassed all our goals. I was inspired by Sedalia residents uniting in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. ... With funds raised, the Alzheimer’s Association will be able to provide much-needed care and support to people affected by the disease as well as fund critically needed Alzheimer’s research.”
