Smith-Cotton grads 'have been through it all'

Smith-Cotton High School Principal Steve Triplett told the Class of 2012, “It’s hard to believe I have known most of you since sixth grade. ... And there has not a boring moment since.”

That held true one final time Saturday night, as the seniors and their families and friends filled the Mathewson Exhibition Center for commencement exercises. The graduating class, 289 strong, is the 89th in Smith-Cotton history and the first to attend all three years at the new high school, school board President Dr. Jeff Sharp pointed out.
