Prescription drug dropoff brings in 160 pounds of medications

Local residents turned in more than 160 pounds of medications for disposal Saturday as part of Operation Medicine Cabinet.
The Sedalia Police Department and Bothwell Regional Health Center collected more than 108 pounds of prescription medications and 52 pounds of over-the-counter drugs, according to a Bothwell news release. The drugs were dropped off by about 50 people, many who had collected medications from family members or were disposing of medications belonging to a loved one who had died.
