Maxine F. Thompson, 1914-2007

Maxine Flavia Thompson,

92, of Colorado Springs, Colo.,

died Friday, March 30, 2007, at

her home surrounded by family.

She was born Aug. 25,

1914, in Fort Scott, Kan., a

daughter of

Joseph W.

and Velda

Ann Searle

Pettyjohn. In

1944, she was

married to

Robert Clark


who died earlier.



moved to Sedalia, after living

in Nevada, Mo. She was a 1931

graduate of Smith-Cotton High

School. She graduated from

Central Business College in

Sedalia in 1934. She later

worked for the County Agent

(Pettis County) and she was

the secretary to the flight surgeon

at Whiteman Air Force


Prior to moving to Colorado

Springs in 1999, she lived in

North Little Rock, Ark., and

Tulsa, Okla., where she was

the benefits coordinator at St.

Johnís Hospital. She was a

member of Holy Apostles

Catholic Church in Colorado


Surviving are two sons,

Greg Thompson, and his wife,

Sue Ann, of Harrah, Okla., and

Bill Thompson, and his wife,

Deborah, of Colorado Springs;

three grandchildren, Michael

Thompson and Julie Davis, of

Frisco, Texas, and Seth

Thompson, of Colorado

Springs; two stepgrandchildren,

Bleys Kueck and Jordan

Locklear; and three greatgrandchildren.

She was also predeceased

by a brother, William J. Pettyjohn.

Funeral services will be at

10 a.m. Thursday at McLaughlin

Funeral Chapel, with the

Rev. Vince Hoying officiating.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited

at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the

funeral chapel. There will be

no visitation.
