Police have ruled out a crime in the death of a Sedalia woman.

Detective Sgt. Adam Hendricks said it appears that Tammie L. Jones, 43, died of natural causes. Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith said preliminary autopsy results also point to natural causes, but the final determination is pending toxicology and lab tests.

Jones’ boyfriend found her not breathing about 4:30 p.m. Monday on the floor of her home at 1101 S. Harding Ave. Hendricks said Jones had a head injury as a result of falling “and that’s the reason it was investigated.”
