Stover man charged with growing pot

A Stover man was charged with possession and distribution of marijuana after police said they saw plants growing on his property near Ivy Bend Road.



Golden S. Belcher, 34, was jailed in Morgan County on the class B felony of distributing and producing marijuana and class C felony of possession of marijuana.



Morgan County Sheriff’s officers and detectives with the Mid-Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force went to a home off Ivy Bend Road in Stover to investigate its residents for cultivating marijuana, according to a news release from the sheriff.



Investigators found marijuana plants growing in a vegetable garden. The plants were in the front yard and visible from the road, according to the sheriff.
