Mary L. Davis, rural Smithton

Mary Lee Davis, 78, of rural Smithton, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City.



She was born Dec. 14, 1928, in La Monte, a daughter of Claude Estes and Dorothy Margarete Cady Holden. She was married to Wesley E. Dice. On Sept. 23, 1976, she was married to Joe W. Davis, who survives of Smithton.



She grew up in La Monte and north of Marshall. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1946 and completed college in Laramie, Wyo., in 1967. She was a school teacher and homemaker. She was a Sunday school teacher and church clerk at Grace Baptist Church in Sedalia.



Surviving are eight children, Sheila Dice, and Dana Dice, and his wife, Julie, all of New York, Mark Dice, and his wife, Pat, of Broomfield, Colo., Stephen Dice, and his wife, Marilyn, of Houston, Texas, Julie Crawford, and her husband, Harlan, of rural Sedalia, Charlotte Sidwell, and her husband, Brian, of Longwood, Joe Davis Jr., and his wife, Irma, of rural Marshall, and Donna Bartel, and her husband, Dewey, of rural Nelson; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.



She was predeceased by a grandson.



Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Grace Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alvin Sipe officiating. Pallbearers will be Dale Bush, Randoe Dice, Shane Dice, John Crawford, Kenneth Crawford and Joshua Dice. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery south of Marshall.
