Smith-Cotton's Cabaret places first in division

The Smith-Cotton High School show choirs are headed to Pleasant Hill this weekend after a performance in Columbia at the Rock Bridge Show Choir Festival last Saturday.



Cabaret, an all women’s choir, placed first in the women's division against Green Ridge, Cole Camp, Carrollton, Pleasant Hill, Nevada, Neosho and Carthage. The group placed fourth overall.



Cabaret's repertoire includes “Express Yourself/Vogue,” “Hit the Road, Jack,” “True Colors,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on my Head” and “Fame.”



New Score Singers, a mixed choir of 30 students, has a repertoire that includes includes “Let Yourself Go,” “One by One,” “This is the Moment,” “Steppin’ Out,” “Ev’rybody Step” and “Fabulous Feet.” New Score’s division included schools from Nevada, Harrisonvillle, Pleasant Hill, Carthage and Neosho.



The Smith-Cotton Choirs are under the direction of Cheryl McCollester assisted by Kandy Derden.
