Bank collects items for soldiers

November 21, 2008

First Community Bank recently announced that through Dec. 1, it will be collecting items at its Sedalia, Knob Noster and two Warrensburg locations to send to soldiers serving overseas.

The bank is collecting gifts of all kinds, including non-perishable treats (cookies, chips and hard candy), phone cards, books, magazines, DVDs, AA and AAA batteries and handheld video games. A list of acceptable items is available at all four First Community Bank lobbies.

“We are grateful to our men and women in uniform, and honored by their selfless service” said First Community Bank’s senior vice president and veteran, Bob Holem. “We wanted to take time this holiday season to show them that they are very much in the hearts of the people back home.”

In addition, gift-givers may bring a photo of a loved one who is serving for display in the lobby.

The Sedalia bank is at 920 Thompson Blvd. The Knob Noster location is at 200 N. State St. and the Warrensburg facilities are located at 612 N. Maguire and 1110 S. Mitchell St.
