Jon Wegener had three hits and drove in four runs, and Will Feil had three hits, three stolen bases and scored three runs as Central Missouri outlasted Rockhurst 14-12 in nonconference college baseball Wednesday at Warrensburg.
Chance Tuttle also had three hits and scored three times for the Mules.
Alex Kent (2-0) got the start and win for Central Missouri, which improved to 14-8. He gave up six hits and five runs over four innings . Matt Curtis came on in the fifth and threw two innings, giving up two runs on four hits. Kyle Smith gave up four runs on two hits in the seventh, and Aaron Brett allowed one run on two hits in the eighth. Chris Matlock came in for Nick Phillips in the ninth and picked up his second save on the year by retiring all three batters faced.
Rockhurst (17-9) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first before the Mules answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning. Rockhurst outhit the Mules 15-13 but couldn’t regain the lead.
Rockhurst had six errors in the game, while the Mules had two.
