Sportsman’s Team Challenge set for Saturday

The State Fair Strutters will hold a Sportsmanís Team Challenge on Saturday at the Sedalia Rod & Gun Club.

The event, sponsored by the National Wild Turkey Federation, will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. †

The fee is $100 per four-person team with the top three team scores earning $1,000 in cash and prizes.†

The leftover proceeds will go to the Share the Harvest program, the NWTF scholarship fund and purchase tags for a hearing-impaired deer hunt.† The event will also help promote youth involvement in the outdoors.†

Competitions include a shotgun volley challenge, a 3-D archery challenge,† a .22-caliber rifle shootout from 25 and 50 yards, a timed ground-blind challenge,† womenís archery shoot and a shootout using .22-caliber guns.

A youth casting pond, deer-rack ring toss, deer-antler scoring, a big-buck photo op and a scoring challenge will be featured.

The Missouri Conservation Department will offer instruction for youth archers. This instruction is free of charge.
