Officers of United Steelworkers Local 1004 and the management of Pittsburgh Corning’s Sedalia facility have reached agreement on a new contract, according to a news release from the company.
No contract details were released.
“It was a fair contract in dealing with the current economic situations,” Richard E. Parker Jr., president of Local Union 1004 United Steelworkers, said in the release.
The Sedalia facility manufactures cellular glass insulation for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.
Pittsburgh Corning Vice President for Global Human Resources Don Tanner said in the release: “The ... contract balances our requirement to ensure continued competitiveness for our cellular glass business with our desire to support our employees and keep jobs in the United States.”
