2 hurt in Johnson County collision

June 19, 2012

Two people were injured in a vehicle accident at 1:10 p.m. Monday in Johnson County.

Cara N. Martin, 21, of Warrensburg, was driving south on Missouri 58 Highway when she overtook and hit Robert M. Tarpenning, 52, of Kingsville, whose vehicle was stationary in the road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Martin refused treatment at the scene but a passenger in her car, Dennis R. Dunning, 58, of Holden, and Tarpenning were both taken to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for their injuries. Reports indicate Holden and Tarpenning were wearing seat belts but Martin was not.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
