Work on Washington bridge needs to start

November 1, 2012

The city of Sedalia hasnít started work on the Washington Avenue bridge. Itís been down almost a year now. All you can read in the paper is about the new fire station and fire truck. What about the new Washington Avenue bridge?

The people on the north side of Sedalia would like to see them start working on the bridge, not just talk. If the Washington Avenue bridge is a top priority for this year, then letís get going ó we would like to see some work on it.

If Olsson is going to do the work, then get them going and stop talking about how city spending is under budget. Letís spend some of the money rolled into the cityís upcoming bond that will also pay for the repair of the Washington Avenue bridge.

City Administrator Gary Edwards said at the City Council meeting two or three months ago that they were going to get started on the bridge.

The people would like to know when. The people on the north side want to know if they are going to start before winter comes.
