College basketball: Pilot Grove's Schuster named student-athlete of December

CANTON ó Culver-Stockton College menís basketball player Jacob Schuster has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for December.

†Schuster, a sophomore guard from Pilot Grove, is a two-year letter winner with the nationally-ranked Wildcat basketball team.

As a freshman, Schuster started 25 of the 28 games played by the Wildcats, scoring a team-high 9.2 points per game. In 44 career games, he is averaging 6.4 points per game and has made 56 3-pointers, which are six short of cracking the schoolís all-time top 10 list.

†Off the basketball court, Schuster, a mathematics major, has been named to the Presidentís List (4.0 GPA) after each of the three semesters he has completed at Culver-Stockton. He has also served as a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) and he was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society last year.
