Prep boys basketball: Knob Noster 62, Holden 47

Knob Noster beat Holden 62-47 in a Missouri River Valley Conference East game on Tuesday.

Knob Noster led by 16 at the half (37-21) before Holden rallied in the third quarter to cut the lead to 50-41 entering the fourth, but Knob Noster held on for the win.

“We did a lot of good things in the first half to develop a double-digit lead,” said Knob Noster coach Adam Eastwood. “We needed every bit of that margin to withstand the run they came out of the locker room with.”

David Barton scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Brett Marsh added 17 points. Aaron Hale had 10 points and eight steals.

Holden was led by Matt Borgan with 19 points and Chase Wright with 13.

Knob Noster (11-4) will host Carrollton in conference play at 7 p.m. Friday.
