The Knob Noster Panthers outscored Van Horn 37-26 in the second half Thursday night to win 54-43 in the semifinals of the Clinton boys basketball tournament.
Van Horn led 11-9 after one quarter, and the score was tied at 17 at halftime.
“Van Horn did an excellent job of controlling tempo in the first half and baiting us into shooting quick contested jump shots,” Knob Noster coach Adam Easterwood. “We were able to make adjustments and get quality post touches in the second half that allowed shooters to get open down the stretch.”
David Barton paced Knob Noster with a game-high 18 points in addition to 11 rebounds and two blocked shots.
Brett Marsh added 15 points and Ryan Keckler had 13 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
The Panthers (14-4) will meet Nevada (Mo.) in the championship game at 5 p.m. Saturday.
