Man injured in motorcycle crash

March 30, 2013

A Columbia man was injured in an accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.

Tyrel C. Naugle, 28, of Columbia, was riding his motorcycle south on U.S. Highway 65 behind a vehicle driven by Dia D. Ford, 22, of Sedalia, when Ford slowed abruptly and began to change lanes to turn left onto Grand Avenue. Naugle then braked and intentionally laid down his motorcycle to avoid striking the rear of Fordís vehicle. Naugle was ejected as his motorcycle slid into the rear of Fordís vehicle.

Naugle, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries. Ford, who was wearing her seatbelt, was uninjured.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
