April 16, 2013

Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident at 10:35 a.m. Sunday in Henry County.

Javan D. Fisher, 30, of Kansas City, was driving east on County Road Northwest 350 when he slowed down to avoid an animal in the road, causing a chain reaction of collisions. Fisher was hit from behind by Nicholas J. Virchow, 29, of Lee’s Summit, who was hit by Lile J. Fisher, 31, of Raytown. The impact caused Virchow and Javan Fisher to be thrown from their motorcycles, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Lile Fisher was taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with serious injuries while Virchow was taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton with minor injuries. The reports indicated that all three drivers were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
