Sedline for May 4-5

May 6, 2013

• The people of Sedalia and the people of Ward 4 will be tired of their new council member before his term is up.

• The Republicans from Missouri who voted ‘no’ on background checks — shame on them. We will not forget who you are.

• It is ironic the county has spent numerous dollars on storm shelters that during the storm season are closed due to repairs. Both the ones on the north side of town and the one at Skyline. People need to pay attention how much is being spent on storm shelters that are inoperable.

• I am a tax-paying citizen and I would like to call a special city council meeting to discuss Larry Stevenson’s haircut

• Stephanie Lefever’s column “Smoking ban should be left up to businesses” is exactly how we feel. You go girl.

• I was wondering if there was anybody that sells Tupperware in Sedalia. If there is, would they please leave their number on the board at east Bing’s so I can call them?

• What do they call that? Megalomania? You know they tried to kill me with a boat recently.

• A well deserved congratulations to Bill Barton for being inducted into the Region 16 Hall of Fame.

• So the sequester is in full swing and we can’t afford this and we can’t afford that. You have all these people running around with these bumper stickers that say “Democrats are cleaning up the Republican messes.” Explain to me how cleaning up the mess is spending $8 million to spin some new advertising campaign on Obamacare? I’m not a Republican either; I consider myself an independent, or maybe even a Libertarian. Why don’t you open your eyes to what is really going on?

• I just want to thank the lady that was at Bing’s pharmacy the other day that gave me enough money to pay for my baby’s medicine. I don’t know who she is, but i just want to thank her.

• Your cartoon in the paper of April 25 was in very poor taste with the opening of the Bush library. I think you owe all of your readers an apology.

• A big thank you to the west Dollar General Store for their employees — especially Heather.
