Center Stage Company Dancers placed in the top 10 in all the categories they competed in and won the Best Showmanship Award during the Talent on Parade Dance Competition April 12-14 in Overland Park, Kan.
The event featured 44 studios.
The contemporary routine “Mad World” choreographed by Tracy Shelly, received Elite Top First and fourth place overall for small groups, ages 13-14.
“Boy from New York City,” a jazz routine, and “Route 66” a tap routine, both choreographed by Shelly, were awarded Elite Top First and second and fourth overall, respectively, for small groups, ages 9-10.
Soloists Elex Simon and Livia Warren each received Elite Top First and fifth overall in their age groups for their contemporary routines to “Precious Things” and “Dreamer,” both choreographed by Maggie Hartman.
Meaghan Mueller’s solo performance of “For Blue Skies,” choreographed by Annie Beile, was awarded Elite Top First and third overall.
The lyrical duet, “One Moment More,” featuring Mueller and Rachel Thompson, under the instruction of Annie Beile, received Top First and ninth overall.
“Cleanin’ Up The Town,” a tap trio performed by Paige Bradley, Lindsey Curtis and Warren, choreographed by school director Jennifer Renfrow, received Elite Top First and seventh overall.
The next local performance by the Center Stage dancers will be “Pack Your Bags!” on June 22 at the Heckart Performing Arts Center.
