The Sedalia Post 642 Travelers won for the 10th time in 13 games Sunday, sweeping Hi-Boy in a baseball doubleheader in Independence.
The Travelers beat Hi-Boy 7-2 and 5-1 behind strong pitching.
In game one, Matt Miles pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
In the second game, Lane Soendker kept Hi-Boy off balance in a complete-game effort. He gave up one run on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
The Travelers (16-16) scored one run in both the first and second innings and added three in the third. Hi-Boy didnít score until the seventh inning.
Henry Tietz went 1 for 2 with two RBIs to lead the Travelers. Zach Bishop went 1 for 3 with a triple and an RBI. Cole Simoncic went 1 for 2 with an RBI, and Caleb Tanguay went 1 for 4 with a triple.
In the opener, A.J. Paul went 2 for 2 with three RBIs to lead the Travelers. Bishop went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Ian Dotson went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Dalton Christian and Simoncic each went 1 for 3 with an RBI.
The Travelers took a 4-0 lead and never looked back. They scored three in the first, one in the second, one in the fourth and two in the sixth. Hi-Boy scored its two runs in the second.
Sedalia will host Windsor in a doubleheader at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Park Stadium.
