Elaine Barklage will turn 86 on July 11.
She was born July 11, 1927, in Schubert. She was married to Olen Barklage, who died earlier.
She was a cook at St. Paul’s and also worked at K-mart. She used to enjoy sewing, making dolls and quilts and fishing.
She has five children, Bobby Barklage and Connie Teeter, both of Sedalia, Don Barklage, of South Carolina, Ted Barklage, of Warsaw, and Mark Barklage, of Lee’s Summit; 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Lois Lewis will turn 88 on July 12.
She was born July 12, 1925, in Syracuse. She was married to Bob Lewis, who died earlier.
She owned a dress shop in Colorado. She enjoys reading, doing word puzzles, playing cards and traveling. She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Elsie Lehmann will turn 94 on July 15.
She was born July 15, 1919, in McClusky, Minn. She was married to Reuben Lehmann, who died earlier.
She was a housewife. She enjoyed participating in church activities. She likes cooking, gardening and sewing.
She has five children, Ivy Wilson, of Excelsior, Minn., Carlene Edwards, of Sedalia, Dennis Lehmann, of Houston, Reuben Lehmann Jr. and Gene Lehmann, both of Boise, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Melinda “Sue” Friedly will turn 71 on July 17.
She was born July 17, 1942, in St. Louis. She is married to Ed Friedly.
She was a school teacher and an elementary counselor. She enjoys reading and traveling and is a member of a writing group.
She has two children, Ginger Miller and Mitchell Friedly, both of Sedalia; and three grandchildren.
Ralph Clark will turn 98 on July 17.
He was born July 17, 1915, in Auburn, Neb. He was married to Lorene Frances Clark, who died earlier.
He was a water and light supervisor in Fall City, Neb. He enjoys boating, golfing, bowling, playing cards, woodworking and visiting with others. He is active in his church.
He has two children, Glenda Gleason, of Sedalia, and Beverly Hanson, of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pauline Carlile will turn 91 on July 17.
She was born July 17, 1922, in Kansas. She was married to George Carlile, who died earlier.
She was a homemaker. She enjoys crocheting, quilting, sewing, cross-stitching, embroidery and gardening. She belonged to the Farm Bureau and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kansas.
She has three children, William Carlile, of Sedalia, Daniel Carlile, of Indianola, Iowa, and the late Arlene Kibbe; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Georgia Davis will turn 95 on July 19.
She was born July 19, 1918, in Sedalia. She was married to Harley Davis, who died earlier.
She was a homemaker. She enjoys fishing, being outdoors, going to the lake and quilting.
She has three children, Charles Davis, of Pennsylvania, Dennis Davis, of Sedalia, and the late Elverta Forsythe; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Kirkpatrick will turn 92 on July 21.
She was born July 21, 1921, in Missouri. She was married to Charles Edward Kirkpatrick, who died earlier.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Extension Club. She enjoys watching television and visiting.
She has a son, the late James Hall; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Charles “Chuck” Schneider will turn 84 on July 24.
He was born July 24, 1929, in Chillicothe. He was married to Verleen Schneider, who died earlier.
He worked at Gambles in Sweet Springs and was a supervisor at Walmart for 19 years, He enjoys golfing and fishing.
He has four children, Debra Casto and Denise Fries, both of Henderson, Nev., and Julie Schneider and Chuck Schneider, both of Sedalia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Barbara Silvey will turn 83 on July 29.
She was born July 29, 1930, in Kansas City. She was married to Clarence Silvey, who died earlier.
She was a housewife and mother. She enjoys baking, sewing, doing yard work, visiting with family and watching the Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs ball games.
She has seven children, Bryan Silvey, Susan Harrellson, Craig Silvey, Tina Vansell and Randy Silvey, all of Sedalia, Karen Kidwell, of Springfield, and the late David Silvey; 15 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
