Two Slater residents injured in Saline accident

Two Slater residents were seriously injured in a vehicle accident at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Saline County.

Maryetta Norman, 34, was driving east on state Route 204 when she drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected, drive off the left side of the road, hit a ditch and overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Norman and a passenger in her vehicle, Shylynn M. Brown, 9, were both taken to University Hospital in Columbia for their injuries.

The report indicated that Brown was wearing a seat belt but Norman was not. Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties.
