The Sedalia Travelers split a pair of games on the second day of the Blue Springs Wood Bat Tournament on Thursday at the Hidden Valley Sports Complex. The Sedalia Legion squad topped St. Charles 9-5 and fell to the Lee’s Summit Outlaws 5-1.

The Travelers trailed 5-3 going into the fourth inning, when they tallied four runs; they added two more in the fifth.
In game two, Matt Miles took the loss despite allowing only one earned run on five hits in a complete game. Several defensive errors in the fifth inning allowed Lee’s Summit to plate four runs.
Cole Simoncic tallied the Travelers’ RBI.
Sedalia (26-20), which is 2-1 in the tournament, will face Hays (Kan.) at 3 p.m. Friday. A win would advance the Travelers to tournament play later in the day, either as the pool winner or as a wild card.
