Five teens injured in Henry County accident

Five teenagers were involved in a vehicle accident at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in Henry County.

Erin N. Neuenschwander, 16, of Clinton, was driving west on state Route M, three-tenths of a mile west of 221 Road when she drove off the left side of the road and overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Neuenschwander and a passenger in her vehicle, Lindsey D. Long, 16, of Clinton were both taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton with minor injures. A third passenger, Katelynn N. Blankenship, 16, of Clinton was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center for her injures. Tara N. Nichols, 16, of Clinton, was lifeflighted to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and Christina L. Plan, 16, of Mesa, Ariz., was lifeflighted to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. The reports indicated that everyone was wearing a seat belt except Blankenship.
