The 2013 Missouri State Fair entertainment lineup, in the Pepsi Grandstand, will kick off with Chris Cagle and Will Hoge at Thursday’s concert beginning at 7:30 p.m.
“He’s famous for the song, “Chicks Dig It,’ ” said Missouri State Fair Marketing Director Tammie Nichols. “That’s why we wanted him for the opening day.”
Cagle’s song title is the theme for this year’s fair. Prices for this concert are track, $15 and grandstand, $10.
Nichols said they try to keep opening day concert prices at a lower cost. Although acts may vary in price, all grandstand concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Friday’s concert will be Foreingner and Starship featuring Mickey Thomas. Cost for this concert is premium track, $40, regular track, $35, premium grandstand, $25 and regular grandstand, $20.
“We expect it to be a nice solid attendance, a lot of people like classic rock,” Nichols said.
Saturday night’s concert turns country with Gary Allan and Randy Houser.
“Those are both strong country acts,” she said. “And at this point sales for Gary Allen are doing very well. He’s the top in sales at this time.”
Prices for the Allan/Houser show are premium track, $40, regular track, $35, premium grandstand, $25 and regular grandstand, $20.
Tuesday’s act takes a little twist with performer, Chubby Checker. Checker, famous for his version of The Twist, popular in 1961, will bring a new spin to the grandstand. Prices for this show are, track, $15 and grandstand, $10.
Nichols said, that to add to the fun, there will also be a Twist contest at 6 p.m. at the Touchstone Energy Stage.
On Wednesday, The Oak Ridge Boys with take the stage as part of their 40th anniversary tour.
“They started off as a gospel group, so they will have a lot of country and gospel mixed in,” Nichols said.
It is also fitting that the concert takes place on Senior Appreciation day she added. Prices for this venue are, track, $20 and grandstand, $15.
On Thursday the 15th, a Sedalia native will perform with the concert, Lee Brice and Tyler Farr.
“Lee Brice is coming on strong on the Country Music charts right now, and Tyler Farr has ties with Sedalia,” she said.
Prices for this concert are, premium track, $35, regular track, $30, premium grandstand, $25 and regular grandstand, $20.
Toby Keith, known for his “Red Solo Cup,” song and Kelsey K will perform Friday the 16th.
“Toby Keith, will be another very strong concert,” said Nichols. “Sales are very close to Gary Allan,”
A Red Solo Cup contest will take place at 6 p.m. on the Touchstone Energy Stage.
Ticket prices for this concert are, standing pit, $65, premium track, $50, regular track, $45, premium grandstand, $38 and regular grandstand, $30.
Saturday, the 17th, wraps up the performances with Three Days Grace and Hinder.
“That’s our final one and we wanted to bring some rock to the concert series, and both of these are very strong,” Nichols said. “I think that one will end strong on sales.”

The box office opens on Aug. 8 and will be open for sales from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day of the Fair.
“We have lots of great seats left,” Nichols added. “Being an outdoor venue is a unique opportunity, there’s not many of these left. It’s nice, to enjoy watching a concert underneath the stars.”
