S-C baseball players take all-WCC, all-district honors

Two Smith-Cotton pitchers and four hitters have been named to the West Central Conference all-conference first team with another pitcher receiving an honorable mention.

The conference champion Tigers were represented on the first-team by starter Dalton Zaremba and closer Austin Bullerd. Cody Kozak was named honorable mention as a pitcher.

The Tigers’ pitching staff allowed a total of 21 runs in eight conference games including a shutout of Clinton early in the season and a three game stretch late in the year which saw O’Hara score three runs in a double header and St. Pius X score one run in a nine-inning game.

On offense, catcher Nick Hagedorn, DH Dom Zerilli, second baseman Steven Bradbury and center fielder Chance McMullin were all named first-team all-conference.

Zerilli, Hagedorn, Zaremba, Bullerd and McMullin were also named to the first-team all-district squad.
