Ann and Mark Pursley, of Peach Tree City, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Myers, of Peach Tree City, to Shelby Barker. He is the son of Ronnie and Jane Barker, of Sedalia, and Robin and Dan Tennant, of Peach Tree City.

He is the grandson of Bob and Elda Bryson, Bob and Diane Barker and Janette Barker, of Sedalia.

The future bride is also the daughter of the late Scott Myers.

The future bride, a 2005 graduate of McIntosh High School in Peach Tree City, is in the registered nursing program at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga. She plans to graduate in May 2009.

The future groom, a 2004 graduate of McIntosh High School, is working toward a degree in secondary education and a minor in history at the University of West Georgia. He plans to graduate in December 2009. He is an information technology technician for Geek Call in Carrollton.

A November 2009 wedding is planned in Peach Tree City.
