Centerview man injured in Johnson County accident

Sedalia Democrat

A Centerview man was seriously injured in a highway accident Monday in Johnson County.
William E. Mudd, 69, was driving southbound at 5:09 p.m. on U.S. Highway 50 at state Route 58 and attempted to cross U.S. 50 in the path of another vehicle driven by Carrie L. Mullins, 33, of Odessa, and was struck on the driver’s side.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Mudd’s vehicle came to a rest in the median and Mullins’ vehicle came to rest partially in the road.

Mudd and Mullins were both taken by ambulance to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. Mullins suffered moderate injuries, according to the report. Both were wearing seat belts, the report said.

An investigation is continuing, with charges pending.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
