Ruby C. Ollison, Sedalia
Ruby Christine Ollison, 89, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born June 26, 1919, in Climax Springs, a daughter of George H. and Clara Baldwin Griesel. On July 14, 1940, in Camden County, she married Elbert W. Ollison, who died on Jan. 14, 1994.
She graduated from Climax Springs High School in 1939. She was a cook for over 20 years. She attended Green Ridge Baptist Church and later was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she helped with several church activities.
She was also a member of their Never Too Old Group and the church’s faithful workers. She was a member of the Jolly Elders.
She enjoyed gardening, attending to her flowers, cooking, quilting and spending time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie Broaddus, of Sedalia; three sons, Keith Ollison, and his wife, Pam, of Smithton, Kenneth Ollison, and his wife, Beverly, and Ronnie Ollison, and his wife, Betty, all of Green Ridge; a sister, Ruth Charlton, of Macks Creek; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by two sons, Ted Ollison and Elbert W. Ollison Jr.; two brothers, Lee Griesel and Freddy Baldwin; and a grandson, Jared Ollison.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wm. Bruce Campbell officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Ollison, James Robert Ollison, Robb Cross, Mike Rimel, Eddie Mosier and Daryl Hilt. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Rimel, Cheri Cross, A. I. Chancellor and Kendy Mae Ollison. Burial will be at Green Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice.
