Churches to host vacation Bible schools

•Ward Memorial Missionary Baptist Church will have vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 14 to 16 at Hubbard Park. Children ages 5 to 12 may attend. To pre-register, call Johnnie Graves at 829-0007.

•Immanuel United Church of Christ, 418 W. Fourth St., will have vacation Bible school from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. July 15 to 18, 8:45 a.m. to noon July 19 and 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 20. A light supper will be served July 15 to 18 and lunch will be served July 19. The theme is “Rainforest Adventure — A Tree Top Blast for God.” Students will receive a free T-shirt and food and enjoy games, activities and live music. •Harvest Time Prayer and Praise Center will host vacation Bible school July 13 to 18 at 2825 S. Ingram Ave. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sunday with the school starting at 6 nightly. On July 18, a carnival will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. The theme is “Heroes of the Faith.”

•Wesley United Methodist Church will have vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 14 to 18 at 1322 W. Broadway Blvd. The theme is “Beach Party: Surfin’ Through the Scriptures.” Activities will include Bible stories, science activities, songs, crafts and snacks. For more information, call 826-4502.

•First Baptist Church will host vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 21 to 25 at 200 E. Sixth St. A science show kick-off party will begin at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the church gym. Students in kindergarten through sixth grade may attend.
