Anita Bone, Dodge City, Kan.
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Anita “Sue” Bone, 66, of Dodge City, Kan., died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City, Kan.
She was born Oct. 9, 1940, in Gate, Okla., a daughter of Dorwin and Laura Whitaker Merett. In September 1961, she was married to Bryce B. Bone, who died on Nov. 15, 1970.
She worked at HyPlains Journal for 25 years as a sales representative. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking and reading. She was a member of the First Missionary Church in Dodge City.
Surviving are two sons, Jay Bone, and his wife, Sherry, and Joel Bone, and his wife, Lori, all of Dodge City; a daughter, Geneanne Wilson, and her husband, Roy, of Smithton; a sister, Rhonda Dockery, of Boise City; her mother, Laura Lewis, of Dodge City; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by two daughters, Janie Leonard and Jill Merrys; and a brother, Verron Merett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City with the Rev. Jeff Turner officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on from noon to 8 p.m. Monday where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of the Prairie, in care of the funeral home.
