Just as the (District of Columbia v. Heller) decision invalidated the Washington, D.C., handgun ban, the citizens of Chicago may soon regain freedoms intended as a gift from the nation’s founders. ... A ruling affirming the Second Amendment applies to the states and their subdivisions will be a major stride toward individual liberty and constitutional freedom, as the false promises of security from gun control policies which disarm law-abiding citizens are replaced by a commitment to observe and apply the tenets of the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.”
