James Curd, Elk Grove, Calif.

James Curd, 82, of Elk Grove, Calif., died Wednesday, May 15, 2008, at his home.


He was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Georgetown, a son of Richard and Erma Curd.


He left Missouri in his early years. He formerly lived in the Sedalia area, Los Angeles and Napa, Idaho. He was a long-haul truck driver for about 40 years. He retired when his health started to fail.


Surviving are his wife, Julie; a son; three daughters; three sisters, Mary Jackson, of Sedalia, Leona Lester, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Minnie Jackson, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and three brothers, Herbert Curd, of Fontana, Calif., Malcolm Curd, of Cedar Rapids, and Allan Curd, of Sedalia.


He was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel; a sister; and four brothers.


Funeral services will be Tuesday in Elk Grove. The body will be cremated.
