Fischer-Penner engagement

Dan and Paula Fischer, of Sedalia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Renae Fischer, of Sedalia, to David Louis Penner. He is the son of Paul and Karen Penner, of Independence.

The future bride, a 2002 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, received a bachelor of science degree in public relations from the University of Central Missouri in 2006. She is working toward a master of arts degree in communication at UCM. She is a graphic artist at the Lexington Clipper-Herald newspaper in Lexington, Neb.

The future groom, a 2001 graduate of Truman High School in Independence, received a bachelor of science degree in journalism from UCM in 2006. He is working toward a master of arts degree in communication at UCM. He is an assistant editor at Lexington Clipper-Herald newspaper.

A Nov. 29 wedding is planned at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Kansas City.
