Clinic director: Love what you do
Jacob Lamb from Smith-Cotton’s DECA program interviewed Mike Trammell, clinic director of Peak Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in Sedalia, as part of its DECA project.
The goal of the DECA project is to promote entrepreneurship in the community the best way its members can.
Members decided to interview a variety of entrepreneurs to inform the community about entrepreneurship and why we need entrepreneurs.
Trammell is a unique entrepreneur because his business offers physical therapy services and occupational therapy services rather than goods, like most businesses.
Trammell has been director of Peak Performance for almost five years and has had great success with his business.
Over those years, Trammell and his staff have reached out to roughly 7,500 clients. Trammell explains that, “Starting a business in a small community is not hard to do when there is a need for a certain service or good within the community.”
His definition of success as an entrepreneur is, “loving what you do; if you don’t, it will seem more like a job than your passion.”
Being an entrepreneur takes a special kind of person with an idea he or she is very passionate about and believe the community could use.
The students in charge of this Smith-Cotton DECA project are Zach Wolf, Ryan Akin and Jacob Lamb. These DECA students are focusing their time on educating the community about our local entrepreneurs and why we should appreciate the work they do for Sedalia.
