Post 642 helps family and elects officers

OPFER FAMILY
American Legion Post 642 recently conducted a karaoke dinner and raffle to assist the Mike Opfer family. Their home in La Monte caught fire on March 9. Through the leadership of DJ Wolf, more than $2,100 was raised to assist the family.
OFFICERS INSTALLED
American Legion Post 642 held its annual elections on June 2. Officers for the the 2008-2009 year are Darren Ross, commander; Otis Brock, first vice commander; Leo Letourneau, second vice commander; Dan Loucks, finance officer; Jeff Leeman, service officer; Allen Hawkins, chaplain; Paul Bennett, historian; Earl Billingsley, sergeant-at-arms; Blair Forsythe, James Petterson and Norman Campbell, executive board members.
