Farm toy show set for Windsor

The Sedalia Democrat

The fourth annual Farm Toy Show & Sale takes place Saturday and will feature collectibles and toys for young and old farmers.

The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Windsor High School.

Shannon Ebeling, show coordinator, said there will be 12 vendors at the show this year.

“Vendors there are selling farm toys and some Diecasts and some NASCAR,” Ebeling said.

In previous years, about 200 people have attended the show and Ebeling is hoping to attract at least 100 more people to this year’s event.

“There’s a lot of neat things to look at,” Ebeling said.

Ebeling is a farm toy collector himself. He often makes a trip to a larger show in Iowa where he collects, buys and trades items.

“Almost all of us that are vendors are collectors too,” Ebeling said.

While vendors buy and sell items, shoppers will be able to purchase some unique collectors items at the show. Items like the John Deere baby bottles and plate sets are collector pieces and Ebeling said some vendors also will be selling pink John Deere tractors items for girls.

“There will be a good variety and everything is farm related,” Ebeling said.

A display contest will take place during the show. Participants will build their own farm or farm related scene and display it on a sheet of plywood to be judged. Winners will receive a plaque.

Ebeling said the show is geared for farmers and farm enthusiasts, but everyone is welcome to come and look.
Admission is $2 per person and children 12 and younger are free with a paid adult. Funds raised during the show will help fund Windsor’s annual Septemberfest celebrations.

“Bring your young farmer and come get your Christmas shopping done,” Ebeling said.
