Shirley Felkner, of Sedalia, will observe her 80th birthday on Friday.

She was born March 28, 1928, in Sedalia. She was married to Richard Felkner, who died earlier.

She was a hairdresser, before she decided to stay at home to raise her family. She was a preschool teacher’s aide and an after-school daycare provider at St. Paul’s Lutheran School for several years. She also babysat for several children in her home, before they were ready to start school. She loves little children. She enjoys attending church, singing in the church choir and spending time with her church family.

She has four children, Kenda Maples and Kevin Felkner, both of Sedalia, Keith Felkner, of Hampton, Va., and Kerry Felkner, of Springfield; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Cards may be sent to her at 1105 Herold Ave., Sedalia, MO, 65301.
