Foley acquires Dean operations
Foley Equipment on Monday completed its acquisition of Dean Machinery’s Construction and Power Systems divisions, including Dean’s Sedalia location.
According to a news release, Foley acquired Dean’s operations in Kansas City, St. Joseph and Olathe, as well as Sedalia, located at 1040 Sedalia Road.
Foley, which now has 19 locations across Kansas and Missouri, offers construction and power systems solutions including new and used sales, rentals, parts, service and GPS technology.
Dean held onto its agriculture business operations, which will be known as Dean Ag Services, at its existing locations in Maryville and Chillicothe.
A spokesman for Foley said the company intends to keep the Sedalia location open, and the majority of local workers will stay on with the new owner. The spokesman said the Sedalia operation will offer a full line of Cat construction and rental equipment.
The transaction makes Foley the exclusive Caterpillar dealer for 104 of 105 Kansas counties and 40 counties in northwest Missouri, including the Kansas City market.
