United Way drive at 86 percent of goal
As of Thursday, the Sedalia-Pettis County United Way campaign for 2009-10 had reached 86 percent, or $365,949, of its $425,000 goal.
“We are really excited,” Elle Wasson, Sedalia-Pettis County United Way director, said. “This has been a really difficult time economically for our community, but we’ve been really blessed because a lot of people have stepped up,” Wasson said.
In the industrial division, ProEnergy Services tops donations with a combined employee and corporate gift of $157,806. In the business division, PrintLynx employees, along with a corporate gift, lead donations with a total of $11,216.
The professional division is now at $5,548 with new pledges from Katy Trail Community Health employees of $1,690, $500 from The Landman Title Co., $200 from the Family Eye Clinic, and $150 from the Eye Clinic.
In the education division, Sedalia School District 200 employees have pledged $15,204. Government and service organization donations stand at $15,603 with pledges of $6,923 from City of Sedalia employees, $5,791 from Boys & Girls Club employees, and $1,048 from Pettis County employees.
In the residential division, contributions from retired residents of Pettis County stand at $9,707.
This year’s United Way campaign wraps up at the end of November.
