Schulz-Herthel wedding

Stephanie Schulz and Todd Herthel, both of Shawnee, Kan., were married at 7 p.m. March 15 at First Christian Church in Sedalia.

The bride is the daughter of Ralph “Skip” and Barbara Schulz, of Sedalia. The groom is the son of Carol Herthel, of Overland Park, Kan., and the late Doug Herthel. He is the stepson of Gail Herthel, of Olathe, Kan.

The Rev. Dr. William Curwood conducted the ceremony. Gwen Kappelman was the pianist. Darrin Hartman was a vocalist.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Nancy Doremus was the maid of honor. Deanna Moisset, Stacy Schulz-Hunter and Sarah Schulz-Gaddy, sisters of the bride, and Sherrie Brownfield were bridesmaids. Lyssa Richter, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Ian Hawkins, nephew of the bride, Shelby Hawkins and Nina Hawkins, nieces of the bride, and Brett Richter, nephew of the groom, were candlelighters.

Grant Martin was the best man. Gary Mellard, Gary Upah, Mike Edgerton and Chris Jennewein were groomsmen. Christopher Gaddy, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Brian Gaddy and Jeff Hunter, brothers-in-law of the bride, and Robert Richter, brother-in-law of the groom, were ushers.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the Sedalia Country Club. The reception was also at the country club.

The bride, a 1990 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, received a bachelor’s degree in deaf education and health education from the University of Nebraska in Omaha in 1996. She received a master of arts degree in curriculum design and instruction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2005. She works at Sylvan Learning Center in Shawnee, Kan.

The groom, a 1988 graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School, received a bachelor of arts degree in communications from the University of Kansas in Lawrence in 1992. He is a sales representative for Patterson Dental Equipment in Lenexa, Kan.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica. They live in Spring Hill, Kan.
