Clarksburg pair injured in Moniteau County accident

Two Clarksburg residents were injured in a highway accident on Wednesday in Moniteau County.

Jason F. Springer, 34, of Clarksburg, was driving southbound on Route H at 2:35 p.m. and tried to make a left turn onto westbound U.S. Highway 50, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The vehicle’s brakes failed and Springer crossed both lanes of Highway 50 and came to rest on the south side of the road in a ditch.

According to the report, Springer was not injured, but two occupants in his vehicle were. They were Rachelle D. Springer, 37, and Marshall L. Woodridge, 1, both of Clarksburg. Both were taken by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. Springer had moderate injuries; Marshall Woodridge had minor ones, according to the report.

The Springers were not wearing seat belts, but Marshall Woodridge was wearing a safety device, according to the report.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
