Warrensburg vet home passes inspections
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs federal inspection team conducted an annual visit to Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg Oct. 25-27, 2011. The purpose of the routine inspection was to ensure the home’s compliance with national regulatory standards. For the second year in a row, results of the in-depth inspection found the home to be in full compliance with all federal regulations, an exceptional accomplishment for any skilled nursing center.
“Once again, we demonstrate to our community and our state that our mission to honor and serve is alive and well, as evidenced through our rigorous regulatory compliance, the incredible number of compliments offered by the survey team, our comprehensive documentation and management systems, and of course, extremely high levels of satisfaction,” said Eric Endsley, MVH-Warrensburg administrator. “This kind of success isn’t achieved by accident or luck; it’s the direct result of the unparalleled dedication and compassion exhibited daily by our entire professional staff.”
A number of local legislators, including Sen. David Pearce, also lauded the findings, “As the local senator and member of the Missouri Veterans Commission, it is indeed gratifying to see the Warrensburg Veterans Home excel in its coverage to our veterans. Our veterans deserve nothing but the best in quality care, and this finding proves our veteran heroes are getting the quality of care they deserve and earned.”
State Rep. Denny Hoskins added, “It comes as no surprise to me. The Warrensburg Veterans Home is known, not only locally, but nationally, for the exceptional services they provide for our Missouri Veterans. We are very proud the Missouri Veterans Home is part of our community.”
During their visit, the team surveyed the home’s various departments to thoroughly review paperwork, policies and procedures. Inspectors also met with employees at every level of the organization, as well as veterans and their family members to conduct interviews and satisfaction evaluations. The team highlighted a number of areas of excellence, including veteran-centered care initiatives, positive relationships between staff and veterans, level of genuine compassion and caring, the home’s atmosphere and cleanliness and the variety of activities designed to keep veterans engaged and entertained.
