Hunt celebrates 80th birthday

Gertrude Hunt, of Sedalia, celebrated her 80th birthday with a luncheon, hosted by her family, on Thursday at her home.

She was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Syracuse. She has been married to her husband, John Hunt, for 60 years.

She is a housewife and member of St. Patrick Church. She enjoys playing her fiddle and singing with her husband.

She loves spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoys playing the lottery and the visiting the casino.

She has four children, Theresa Eads, of Florence, Loretta Nye, of Green Ridge, Monica Holman, of Sedalia, and the late Lawrence “Shorty” Hunt; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
