Johnson-Bassett wedding

Emilee Johnson, of Sedalia, and Andrew Bassett, of Knob Noster, were married at 5 p.m. Aug. 2, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Columbia.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Susie Johnson, of Sedalia. The groom is the son of Bryan and Sharon Bassett, of Dixon.

The Rev. Mark Rowden conducted the ceremony. Joan Ferguson played the harp, John Rutlin played the violin and Kasey Wasson played the cello. Maggie Johnson was a vocalist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maggie Johnson, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Katie Kempf, Beth Neporadny, Cassiti Stewart, cousin of the bride, and Megan Steele, cousin of the groom, were bridesmaids. Ryan Kempf was the flower girl.

Lavon Lewis was the best man. Edward Draine, Bernard Godfrey, Dustin Huntsman and Bryce Johnson, brother of the bride, were groomsmen.
Shaun Kendrick was the ring bearer. Kristen and Caleb Rowden, cousins of the groom, were candlelighters. Ryan Camden, Joe Holtzclaw and Jake Jones, cousin of the groom, were ushers.

A rehearsal dinner was held by the groom’s parents Aug. 1 at Jack’s Gourmet in Columbia. The reception was at the University Club on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.

The bride, a 2002 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, received a doctorate in pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2008. She is a pharmacist for the Walgreens Corp. in St. Louis.

The groom, a 2002 graduate of Knob Noster High School, received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 2007. He is working toward a doctorate in pharmacy at St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He is a pharmacy intern for the Walgreens Corp. in St. Louis.

The couple honeymooned in England, France and Italy. They live in Fenton
