Louis E. Oberkrom, Kansas City

Louis Eldon Oberkrom, 83, of Kansas City, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Kansas City Hospice House.


He was born Oct. 20, 1924 in Readsville, a son of Dr. Lewis William and Janie Oberkrom.


He was an Army veteran. He received a degree in business from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after several years of service.


Surviving are three children, Louann Huffman, and her husband, Charles, of Kansas City, Steve Oberkrom, and his wife, Brigid, of Lee’s Summit, and Dr. David Oberkrom, and his wife, Vicki, of Sedalia; and his grandchildren, Joseph Huffman, Andrew and Jacob Huffman, Matthew, Christopher and Joshua Oberkrom, Kara, Michele and Kyle Oberkrom, Bobbi and Erick Billups.


He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Marie Oberkrom; and a sister, Dorothy Hirsch.


Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Kansas City. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.


The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Catherine of Siena Church or Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
