American Legion Post 491 honors students

George Shepherd, adjutant secretary of George T. Murphy Post 491 of the American Legion, awarded American Legion Certificates of Distinguished Achievement School Awards to John Birdwell and Erin Larimore.
The awards were given to the top senior boy and girl in the Green Ridge graduating class of 2008. They were recognized for courage, honor, leadership and patriotism.
